Speaking of angry white men...

Did you guys happen to catch the Ted Nugent concert on HDNet last night? For an old dude, he can still play a guitar.

Sure brought back some old memories.

Did he keep politics out of it? Saw him live in Portland Maine quite a few years ago and lost total respect for the guy. Started the show calling Janet Reno the C word then rambling about his political views. What an asshat.
Great guitarist azzhole human being.

Mr Nugent is the only outspokenly conservative musician of whom I am aware. It is no secret that he is. His being outspoken makes him an azzhole human being how exactly?

I like Ted.

Great musician.

Says what's on his mind, some of it I agree with, some I don't.

No different than going to a CSNY show, you'll here things you may agree with and some stuff that you won't.

I've seen people get up and walk out on both acts.

I'm just there for the music and ignore the rest.

Let me tell you how. I paid good money to listen to music not some asshat's political views.
I happen to agree with most of his views but a rock concert isn't any place to call an American leader a C.

Agree. Hawking their CCs on stage, telling you they're available in the lobby during intermission pisses me off too. I feel like shouting, Play you're fking music that I paid you to listen to!

I felt like dropping him like a bad habit!

Can you distinguish the difference between those two statements?

So you got up and left then, did you ask for a refund?

If you did not get up and leave, how long was the show, and how long was his diatribe about her?

I still don't get where he speaks his mind at his concert transforms him into an azzhole human being. At the time, did you hold a similarly low opinion of Ms Reno?

Same goes for every other musician who thinks their music is a platform to express their political views. Their business, not mine so keep it that way. Don't care what they think and don't want to hear it. Jackson Brown can ESAD because he came out at every opportunity against nuke plants (and is totally uninformed about the same subject), same goes for the anti-war hippie-cowards of the 60's.

IMO Musicians should play music and keep their mouth shut about politics and everything will be fine. If they want to express themselves they can do it in their music, and i can choose to listen or not. What's wrong with that? I don't want to pay money to go to a concert and get a left-wing liberal lecture instead.
They make music. That's all. They get this stupid idea that a life of drugs and music and little education makes them an expert on everything. Have the dixie chicks received their MENSA memberships yet?
I would have thought you guys understood why....

Sammy must HATE the Nug and he's in TOTAL agrement with Buckterrier

You went back three years to get a Dixie Chicks quote from me, then failed to make any coherent point? You need to get some fresh air Michael.

That was easy because I remembered how incised you guys were at the time. Just found the mock indignation a little hypocritical.

The quotes more than make the point I think.
