Anyone Catch Pawn Stars Last Night? Guy Tried to Sell a 911 Engine for $4500

Pulls into the shop with a 2000 Carrerra engine in the back of his pick-up, tells the guys he got it at a junk yard and it is a good engine. The thing had some rust. The fuel lines were exposed and the belts all gone. Rick (the owner) had a friend come check it out and told them that it looked rough and that if there was rust on the outside there was prolly rust on the inside (due to the fact that the lines were all exposed to the elements).

The owner of the engine says "If you get a good mechanic, he will tell you this is a good engine'. I thought the mechnica Rick brought in was gonna clock him!

They passed on it. Pretty funny stuff.

I saw that. What an idiot that guy was. I would have passed on that engine without having anyone else look at it. If I would have been Rick, I would have told him I was passing on the engine as soon as his mechanic friend said it was a no go, and the idiot guy opened his mouth the way he did.

Saw that, was pretty amusing.

The seller was insulting but in reality the comments made by Ricks mechanic were generic to any engine.

Based on the sellers stated occupation I think a Pawn shop would be the last place he'd look to unload it.

Bet he knew there were issues and thought it would receive less scrutiny.

I enjoy seeing some of the oddball stuff that shows up there. But it's so rigged, it's ridiculous. Who the hell sells some of that stuff for less than half of retail value to a pawn shop? And when I went to that shop a year aog, it was one of the lamest pawn shops I've ever been in. the prices were insane and it had more useless junk than a flea market.

I've watched the program several time and hae been amused by some of the stuff brought in. It's scripted some times, but it has its funny times.

I like the old man and Rick, but Chumlee and Big Hoss have to be two the biggest losers around.

Chumlee's great for comic relief. He'd got more color (literally and figuratively) than Big Hoss.

Who puts a M96 in a sandrail? I thought that was interesting. I loosely remember a comment about this show from a while ago. Something like Pawn Stars is Antiques Roadshow for the wrestling crows. Makes me chuckle whenever I see the show.

Our Son loves to watch it - I swear he takes his cue on neogotiating from them! Its always the same tired line:
Rick: "So what do you you want for it?"
Customer:"I was thinking $(list retail)."
Rick: "Thats not gonna happen, I'll give you $(half of what they want)

I think all the sellers would do better if they sold on fleabay or begs list.

Son asked "Dad, why don't they ever show anyone wanting to buy something?"
Me: "Good question, I don't think they sell much..."

Guy came in and bought some antique designer cufflinks once. that was kinda interesting.

I agree that Ric's kid is just self centered douche.

Those guys won the lottery with that show. That store absolutely sucks and I can't believe people actually sell them stuff for half of what it's worth just to be seen on tv.

I read somewhere that Chumlee bought a $100k Maserati recently. Probably parks it outside his trailer every night...

The last show I watched was the one were a guy came in with a light weight working cannon.
Damn it was nice condition and they paid $30,000 for the thing once they knew it was working.

Not bad considering it was valued at $40,000 by an expert.

I could care less about the prices/haggling/retail/whatever, but I do enjoy seeing some of the stuff that is brought in.

As to "Eddie", the guy unloading the engine, I was hoping/expecting him to get knocked the fuch out. What a douchenozzle.
