Live from Woodward Ave.
It's the dream cruise weekend. A Detroit oldies station has set up a live streaming camera overlooking Woodward. It will be running all day.

We were headed that way but the local radio informed us of severe t-storms on their way. We got back about 15 minutes ago and it is now hailing. The 911 is safely in the garage.
Flint is having "Back to the Bricks" this weekend as well.

Damn...that's a shame. Stream is choppy too. But that doesn't bother me for looking at the cars, I just mute.
Geographically undesirable for me, but this camera gives a window to the event...kinda cool. Obviously a big deal back there.

Just saw a minivan... a Bugatti kit car... an Escalade... a Saab convertible... one of those newer retro T-Birds... a Passat... cops on bicycles... ooooooo, there's another minivan... and a Chevette. It ain't what it used to be, huh?

Yep...you have to wait for the better stuff. Public street, so they probably can't keep the appliance vehicles away.

Astro van with a ladder rack and ladders and an SUV with a canoe. Lots of people in the back of PU's. I thought that was illegal. Can't even have a dog in the back in CA w/o a short leash.

This is the 1st year I haven't taken a Porsche out in the Woodward Cruise since 2002. The "cruise" is more of an "idle" since you can't get out of 1st gear. Mostly Detroit iron, very, very few Porsches...

At least they didn't cancel the event like Flint. It's a beautiful night now. If I hadn't have enjoyed a couple of brews tonight I would take the 911 out for a nice ride.
Looks like it will an early Sunday ride instead.  I wonder if Chevrolet is a sponsor this year?
