I love it. Nice continuity with the tradition. I am not too fond of the center console, but that's a nit-pick. If I had the $ that is probably the car I would buy to replace our old 911 (wait, we can never replace that ol 911!). Maybe now some 997's will be more affordable.

I'd like to see that interior in black or charcoal grey to make a better decision, the color is sickening. The outside of the car I do not consider an improvement over the 997, which I really like. At least it still looks like a 911.

A fatter, lower, bloated 911. But yes, you can't mistake the DNA.

As for the interior, hey, at least the key is to the left of the column. Other than that it shares almost nothing with 911 heritage. It will likely look better in a dark color with dark trim. Let's hope. That interior is fuuuuuuuugly....

The resale value of late edition 997s just went up. Bummer.

somewhere the baby Jesus is weeping tears of anguish and feeling let down-

Looks like they decided to spend more design time on the companies other projects instead of actually making progress on the 911 tradition. It's good to know this is the result of designing 4 door sedans, watches, pens, and hats.

Is good design truly dying out?

The wheels are wrong for it. 911s, of any generation, look better with chunky wheels on them. The body aesthetic is too heavy for those featherweight spines.

The last photos say it all -> no clutch pedal = not a real sports car.

Porsche is now, and has been (since the 996) in the Luxury-sport market.
