My Old Favorite Spoon Store
Jon & Amber opened their Spoon Store back in 2003. Their main bizness was Tactical Practical & Safes and as such didn't have much that I was interested in, except for the occasional used spoon that they would come by. I would also do the FFL receiving of spoons that I bought elsewhere, through them.
They had a guy working for them doing gun repair that I never cared for. He claimed to be a Special Forces Sniper with so many kills. Well one day the Metro Police came in and nabbed him as a ex Felon from NJ and everything he told other people was a lie. Someplace down the line in 2009 they ran afoul of the BATF and lost their FFL license. They told me that all the forms were not filled out properly (the BATF is very particular in how one is to fill out the forms as in NO abbreviations) They said they had even turned in a suspicious character to the BATF who they thought was doing Straw Purchases? Since then I haven't been around. As there was no reason to visit them anymore. One day a Safari Club friend put me into contact with a guy who had a coupla of old Flintlocks and wanted them appraised. So I met him in the parking lot in back of the store. Within minutes the BATF swooped down on us. We showed him what we had and they left. It seems that 18Th century military muskets didn't interest them. Well now this....As I have said before LV is the last stop on the road to he11 for every con man, grifter, thief and murderer. The reason why what happens in LV stays in LV is that if it ever got out no body would ever come here. In LV I trust NO ONE... Air Force unit raids central valley gun store LAS VEGAS *************** Posted: Aug. 19, 2011 The U.S. Air Force's Office of Special Investigations raided a central valley gun store Friday afternoon. Officials would not state the purpose of the raid at the Citadel Gun & Safe, 4305 S. Dean Martin Drive, near Flamingo Road. A Nellis Air Force Base spokesman referred questions to the office's headquarters in Quantico, Va., but said that the raid referred to an "ongoing investigation" on which he could not comment. The office investigates Air Force and base-related crimes, including property crimes. Las Vegas police and the FBI assisted Friday. Spokesmen for the agencies declined to comment. Witnesses saw SWAT officers shouting "search warrant" enter the store with guns drawn. "We saw them break that door down and everything," said Joe Gold, whose Bahama Mamas cigars office sits behind the gun store in the business park off Interstate 15. "They were everywhere here." Police were seen going in and out of an office behind the gun store that witnesses thought was uninhabited. A message left with a spokeswoman for the Office of Special Investigations was not returned.

"the BATF is very particular in how one is to fill out the forms as in NO abbreviations"
I suppose it may vary with the agent doing the compliance check but my last guy said 'postal' abbreviations are allowed. I won't be checked again until January at the earliest. Jim

The Dealers here in town are all sticklers for NO abv...
From what I understand is that it was a paper work problem but quite a bit more than just Abv's....I don't know all the paticulars and don't really care..

Friend of mine was in the store at 4PM Friday looking at a Tactical Scope..his comment was that the F..B..I...raided the store just after closing time, so as not to have customers as collateral damage...
