Looks great thats a stout fence assembly you have and i think it will last longer than 15 years, though you might help this by coating with some Thompsons water seal in a year or two

Thanks

It looks like they lag bolted the brackets to the 2x6. I was wondering how they joined the 2x6's. Butt jointed with screws toenailed?

I am a landscape contractor and have used this specific variety for many years without disappointment. It fits in quite well with my designs. I have some at my own property in fact in 2 different areas. It is a "clumping" variety and does not "run". It's also very cold tolerant. There's nothing like Bamboo to evoke an instant tropical setting. I too have had clients afraid to use it and I usually prevail after showing them examples of previous works in which it was used successfully.

You have created a wonderful outdoor living area....a little Bamboo and it would be finished!

Agree on the 'Boo', what type would you suggest for me here in Tejas where the temps get to over a 100F? I would love to have the tall stuff. BTW - I water regularly.

That's Texas, right? High temps. only make it grow better I recommend "Alphonse Karr" but check with your local garden centers and/or extension agents to see if they have a better variety they recommend.

Here's the AK from one of my projects:
