Expedition Impossible

Don't know if anyone else got hooked on this "reality show" based in Morocco but there were some pretty serious physical and mental challenges and the three member team that finished in second place had a 30 something year old guy who has been totally blind for 20+ years, a army guy on active duty now heading back to Afghan (about 1/2 way through the show he seriously re-injured an ankle he had previously broken in Afghanistan and did the last several days of challenges with a fiberglass cast and canes/crutches) and the third guy who has served as the blind guys wingman for many years. Those two guys had a bond of trust that was incredible.

It was amazing to watch the blind guy and his wingman rappel down long vertical cliffs, ride wild camels, half-wild horses, mountain climb, kayak in rapids, etc.. the only time the blind guy got in real trouble was kayaking in rapids because he couldn't hear his wingman over the roar of the water..

and one of the teams they beat were 3 ex NFLers..

there were also several all female teams that did really well..

Most "reality TV" is total crap but this was really interesting...

I got addicted to it. Not only the level of resolve the men had, not only the support they gave each other, but the raw and unadulterated TRUST that the blind guy had.

He was led down steep hills covered in rocks, at nearly full run, and had to trust his guide that, yes, there was still ground in front of him. He rappelled, climbed down ladders, everything trusting that the other two would verbally keep him safe. Hell, he made it though unscathed, even his tough as nails Army buddy got busted up on those same hills!

Talk about trust. He trusted his wingman to a level I can't even imagine.

The Gypsys won, No Limits was second, the annoying complaining whining yelling Fab 3 took third.

The 1st and 2nd teams were seconds apart, but they took all of the teams and equalized them twice during the show to add to the excitement. If the Gypsy's got to start with the leads they got each episode, they would have blown everyone else out.
