Front engined V12 ferrari - take your pick e.g. Daytona Coupe, etc.

When the weather turns bad, an Unimog!

Interesting...my friend Stan, now pushing 80 and recovering from recent surgery could be considered an "interesting" man. He kind of fits the profile depicted in those alcohol ads.

For instance, how many here were in the Guinness book? Stan was, for "circumnavigation, go kart". His entry later dropped because nobody was foolish enough to try to break his record.

He was a live-aboard yachtie for quite some time...bought the boat in England, sailed to the Med...lived there in various harbors before crossing the Atlantic into the Caribbean. Sold the boat in, Florida...now living in Germany with his wife...

A true "grasshopper" life. Stan isn't wealthy...but he sure has a lot of memories to look back on.

I owe him for allowing me to live vicariously through his adventures...and for the time I spent on his boat, both in the Med and the "spanish lake", the Caribbean.

right at the point when he rolls down the window and tosses out a wayward fish

- wish I had a pic of that

He has no need for a car or any other form of conveyance.

One minute he is not there then at the absolute optimal time he is, simply there.

.... and he can drive anything he wants, but he used to live on a boat.

Rumors of his death early in 2011 appear to be false.

FWIW,
Sherwood

Thats correct, He used to live on his boat in Marina Del Rey when I worked there. He said the biggest bummer about being the "most interesting man in the world" was that because of his contract, he couldn't drink any other beer when out in public....

Sammy and I agree about .006% of the time, but post 36 is the winner. Cool, classic, and fast.

'86 944, without a doubt!!!:D

dw1 08-29-2011 05:27 PM

He would have a collection, of course:

D-type Jag

Ford GT40P, sn 1075

Bugatti Royale (for him and his women) or perhaps a 1934 Hispano-Suiza H6B Million-Guiet Dual-Cowl Phæton

some kind of Ferrari spider with a racing pedigree

Porsche 917 adapted to be a street car.

and whatever he borrows from his good friend Jay (i.e. from Jay's Garage) that week!

DanielDudley 08-29-2011 05:47 PM

I may be wrong, but I think he is driving a successful marketing campaign.

74-911 08-29-2011 06:39 PM

I don't know about any other time but on Friday nights when he cruisess the local DQ, he drives a '55 Chevy Bel Air 2 door sedan running a 327 short block, power pack heads, Duntov green stripe with solid lifters, a Carter AFB or Tri-power on Edlebrock manifold and Hedman Headers... and posi-trak with 4:11 in the rear..SmileWavy and don't forget the Hurst shifter.
