Angry EvilBay/PayPal RANT

So I'm trying to buy tires. I've had both an eBay and PayPal account for over 7 years now, been "verified" since the beginning for BOTH. I log in tonight to "check out" and PayPal throws a big ERROR in my face: "This transaction exceeds your sending limit, add a bank account to verify your account."

Seriously? I've been using PayPal for years and been "verified" in all that time. Then this? WTF?

FCKit, I'll call the seller directly and order, pay with my CC over the phone. Probably cheaper for them anyways without the PP transaction fees.

Just insanely inconvenient.

I've got your tires right here, buddy... they're securely wrapped and ready to go.

All I need is that CC number, expiration date, and shipping address and they're on their way.

Send me the digits... it's all very secure and trustworthy... even though you can't see me and don't know who or where I am, I'm your new best friend.

You've met the guy you plan to buy tires from with a CC# over the phonelines? If so, you're probably okay. I was merely wondering why you weren't going with Tire Rack, etc. and trying to encourage you to be careful.

I know HnT... I'm just razzin ya back . I decided to buy from another vender and NOT go throught e-Bay. TireRack didn't carry the brand/size I wanted otherwise I would have used them (as I have in the past).

I have bougth a bunch of stuff off evilbay over the years and got sucked into the Paypal scheme...

But last time I tried to buy paypal gave me the same runaround...

Ya know what... feck them... anything you can get on ebay is available online from reputable vendors that will take a credit card (Amazon for instance... or tiger direct, etc.)

Who needs them?

If I want ultra cheap I look on craigslist, otherwise I have a long list of bookmarks to buy from that I have used over the years.

Die ebay die!

PS, I presume tirerack doesn't have as good a deal online?
