Mustang Review FYI
FWIW, I rented a 2011 Ford Mustang V6 Convertible for three days in Michigan last week. I must say that I thought it was quite a car for the buck. Decent powerplant, great handling, good looks outside, but what really impressed me was the interior. Ford seems to have finally matched the Japanese in terms of texture, quality of materials (esp seats and gauges) and even the ergonomics were pretty good. As for the top - zero wind noise when closed.
The last Ford I drove was an 07 GT500, and I think they've actually come quite a way since then. It was great blasting down the back roads of Southern MI. A few gratuitous shots:       Wish I'd have gotten more interior shots. A lot of fun for $150. PSA over.

Interestingly, a ponycar convertible is the one thing the Japanese (or Koreans) DON'T do. Which leaves the segment to the Camaro and Mustang, and to a lesser extent the Chrysler 200. The Mustang is the clear leader, I think. Really a nice car. Perfect car to rent! Glad you enjoyed your trip!

I haven't rented a Mustang since '07. I rented 2 on trips to Jacksonville, one a Shelby.
Didn't like them much. For one thing the consoles had a sharp edge up the side that really bothered my leg. Didn't like the top operation.....

I actually found the roads to be quite nice, but that may be regional?
I did notice, that compared to California, your big rigs have many more axles/tires on the road. In fact, most of the big rigs I saw had 4 to 5 axles vs. 2 here. I would think that would lessen their impact on the road.
