1939 jag kit car ?

Looked at a fire damaged remodel yesterday. The client has a 39 Jag kit car with a 6 cylinder engine. The front tires melted and the lights were shot. Other wise everything looks real nice and clean. No damage to the fiberglass body. Any idea what they are worth or how hard is it to get parts for these thing. The owner wants to get rid of it since the insurance paid them off. The wife wants to use it as part payment on the expansion to her home. She's thinking about a few thosuand bucks.

Who made the kit, and what kind of engine does it have?

Really want to stay away from those... No money to be made and they look weird. Now the obvious exception is if the 6 is a sweet triple carbed Jag engine... Then buy it for the drivetrain.

I will see them again next week and find out more about the car. Other then that I know nothing about those cars. I thought it was the real deal until I saw the fiberglass fender.

Saw a 240Z with a Jag motor like that. It was an automatic, jumpin' jehosaphat it was fast. I guess it was more a 420 than a 240, 4.2 liter, would just go and go

Agreed. I've seen several real Jag SS's and they are stunningl beautiful. Living in SOCAL, I've also seen enough of these kit car Jagwires to fill a nightmare - actually, seeing just one on the street can do that. Those abortions are a blight on any landscape they are inserted into.
