my brother thought he would be in a gunfight with mexican police
my stepdad is sick with cancer, but he wanted to go dove hunting. to minimize hiking, they went to the levee near el paso. this is the rio grande levee, that borders Mexico and the US. they were shooting doves, when a bunch of mexican police showed up on the opposite shore. they started yelling at dove hunters and postering with firearms. my bro put my stepdad in a ditch and got to his nearby truck where his assault rifle was. other dove hunters, yelled back stuff like.."this is america! we have the right to hunt here!!.." my bro said it started to escalate, and he feared the mexican cops would start to fire. (he said they all had AK's and various black guns)..after awhile, the situation diffused and the cops left.
a few miles down the river, some more of my bro's SWAT buddies were hunting and the same thing happened..but apparently the mexican cops fired a shot between some friends. it is insane down there!! i am glad i moved. my bro is done with border doves. here is a news article of a similar incident. Mexican police cross into US - El Paso Times

At least you can eat the doves, the Mexicans don't taste very good without salsa and tequila.

To Vash, wow, I'm glad it turned out OK. That's really messed up.

it is clear that the mexi-cops were simply attempting to serve as game beaters
