Anyone here ever used this sound deadening material?
Elemental Designs: Car Stereo, Home Speakers, Electronics
Price point seems pretty good. Looking to use this on the floor of my 65 Volvo Wagon, and then put carpet over it. Anyone ever use it? Should I use something else? I know dynamat is the standard, but the price for this makes me think it's worth a look. Thoughts? |
I don't know if it's the right or wrong thing to do but I used this roofing stuff from home depot and it really quieted down my interior. Some say you shouldn't but it was rubber so I figured I'd try. I forget the name but they have it at all home depots and it's cheap.

My old 951 had straight-cut gears. I used a similar product under the trunk carpet to keep the transmission noise down.

I know a lot of people are using this now : Lizard Skin - Sound Deadening - Interior Repair : You can paint it on with a brush, or buy the spray gun, and get into those tight places you just can't reach with Dynamat. Seems it would be easier to use if the interior were out already.
