WTF----- Safety Truck and Rahal near miss at Baltimore

Somebody, please tell me how race control can let this happen. Absolutely no excuse. 2 seconds later this could have been fatal. Please, IndyCar, put a real steward in race control.

Hoily key-rap! That was today? Glad I watched a pool tournament instead.

IRL still seems to be the Inferior Racing League with a screw-up like that.

wow, that is not what you want to see coming out of a corner

Truck vs open wheel race car, that would be ugly.

How is driving the wrong way on a race course ever considered OK?

I'm surprised you don't see more of that on those courses.

That actually happened to me, I was in my Formula Ford and came out of a blind corner to see a panel van coming straight towards me, I did notice that it said Holeshot Racing on the van. It was practice day before the weekend and as it turns out this van was going to the moto cross track and decided to take a short cut, it was scary cause my head was even with his bumper. It was a near miss like the vidio
About 6 month later I'm at work and who shows up, the Holeshot van, my blood started to boil on the spot, I looked for the van after the track insident but it was gone but now it was delivered to me. Found the guy who owned the van and asked him how long he owned it, since new was his answer - I let lose on this stupid a$$ and ripped him for about 10 minutes, there was a couple of guys standing around cause they knew me and heard about the track near missand heard me yelling and swearing at this loser, they were getting ready to pull me off this jerk. Turns out he was the new hire HD mechanic and he was worthless at that too, he stayed away from me and didn't even talk to me for about a year. Turns out the track worker let our session out and then went for a coffee and left the entrance open and ungaurded.

I watched the race live but didn't notice that. Someone will be fired for that bonehead move.

You would think, but after you've followed a few of these races you know that they don't do a very good job. According to what the drivers and owners say.

I still had the race on DVR and watched it again. They missed it. There is a split second shot of the truck after Rahal had already exited the corner but nothing like the link above.
If it was Franchitti on the outside he would have been screaming "bloody murder" (he whines more than anyone-even more than Danica these days) and the officials would have already had an inquisition/execution.

Brian Barnhart is hated almost as much as s_morrison57 "loves" Gary Bettman.

Major screw up IMHO. The pressure to get on-time for TV might have gotten to them. Could have been ugly. That second angle shows it was way closer than what you get from Camera 1...
