I've been looking online. Is a dollar a shot the going rate. That seems really high to me.

Any opinions on PMC?

How are you spending $1/shot!?!

Skip the steel case stuff (wolf, tula, brown/silver bear, etc) but you can find it for under $0.30/round.

even prvi partisan is only 29cents.

daepp 09-07-2011 11:24 AM

Well that's what I thought but I looked at cheaperthandirt and cabellas and they both looked like $21 per box of 20, which is much higher than I remember.

Gun shows.....reloads or Norinco/Chineese. Shoots OK.

A dollar a round is crazy, unless you're buying heavy match ammo. Prvi Partizan is ~$0.33/rd SHIPPED to your door from ammoman.com.

I usually get it on sale at Dicks Sporting goods for $1.99 a box

I buy the Russian stuff. It's dirty and really cheap. Cabela's and CTD are usually very expensive.

id10t 09-07-2011 12:23 PM

Privi is some good stuff. My FAL loves it, and the "match" by them is very close in accuracy to 60s vintage lake city match.

$1.99? seriously? in jersey?

legion 09-07-2011 02:04 PM

I spend $0.40 a bullet for the standard Remington 55 grain stuff without even trying.

I reload for around $0.20 a bullet.

Around here, Wal-Mart has decent prices, Farm & Fleet has the best "everyday" prices, but Dick's has the best sale prices--usually in the fall.

You will be happy with PMC, I have no issues with it at all.

Tim Hancock 09-07-2011 05:43 PM

I still have a bunch of boxes of steel cased russian Wolf an Brown Bear that I paid probably $2.99/box of 20 for several years ago...... Shoots just fine in my Rock River Arms AR15.

I could not reload for that price (maybe if I had free used brass).
