Anybody send their pelican gift Fedex?

If so, hope it wasn't fragile...

Don't just knock FedEx.
I worked many years for another company, and many times witnessed the results of bad engineering combined with employee negligence.
You really don't want to know.

That being said, I've recieved "perfect" packages from all of them.

Any company is at the mercy of a bad employee.

Back in the Mid 1980s, we were selling a lot of IBM PC-ATs (a rather bulky, heavy machine). Our office was 2nd floor with no elevator with a very wide outside staircase. Can't recall the carrier as we used several but the guy (not our regular delivery guy) who came to pick up our outgoing shipment was older and had a club-foot. When he got to stairs, he sat the box down, turned it up on end and gave it a push. It cart-wheeled down the flight of stairs and on past the bottom of the staircase.

Several of us saw him and hit the stairs on the run. Read the guy the riot act and told him to never come back, called the carrier and told them the story. Don't know if he was fired or not but we never saw him again.

We unpacked the machine and it booted right up but the case had a large dent in the side. The carrier just wanted to pay to replace the case but eventually agreed to replace the whole machine as we argued just because it would boot didn't mean it wasn't damaged.

Note: our regular dellivery guy knew he could ask for help anytime he needed it to haul stuff up/down the stairs.

I have evaluated the video and determine it to be a fake. Look at the way the box moves. It must be empty. He flicks it around too easily. Why would someone who had access to a FedEx truck defame the company?

new LCD tv's, especially that size weigh about nothing. secondly, to me, it looks like it is a full box, especially when he walks away from the truck. lastly, FedEx hires lots of contract drivers to do routes. He might not really be a FedEx employee.

I just bought a 24" LCD TV that weighs almost nothing, I could carry it with two fingers all day.

I don't have to worry about shipping, this year I "named a star" after all my gift recipients.
As far as they know .....

My friend was driving his pickup down the freeway at about 60 mph when his large flatscreen TV, still in the box, fell out the back and went cartwheeling down the freeway. He retrieved it, got it home, plugged it in, and worked just fine.

I figured that the video would be revealed as a fake before the day was out. NOPE! Based on the stuff posted on the FedEx web site it does appear to be legit. It will be interesting to see if we hear from the employee in question. Just having a bad day or what?
