Convert old Palm OS music?

I've got an old .pdb music file from an ancient Palm OS device (Sony Clie). Is there any way to convert it to anything playable on a desktop machine? It's tiny, so I'm guessing it's basically a midi file, rather than audio, but simply changing the extension to .mid doesn't work.

Nope, and VLC plays pretty much anything.

Do you still have any of the sony software?

I think it is an .amr file.

I don't know what plays an amr file.

I think there is a mobileconverter app that would convert the amr file to wav.

I found an amr player - that didn't work. Thanks, though.

You could try dragging the .pdb file into SUPER to see if it can convert it. It's not listed at one of the myriad of files it plays well with, but, for free, it may be worth the shot.

OTOH, if it's not too personal in nature, you can e-mail your .pdb to me. I'd be happy to see if I can convert it with MY version of SUPER.

Download SUPER

I just downloaded and tried to install that Super program - it insists on installing some toolbar along with it, and there's no way to choose the other option. Eff that. Last time I did that it took me months to get rid of it.

In any event, that program deals with audio, and I'm pretty sure this is basically a midi data with some different kind of header on it. It's only 9k, and my memory is that it's 30 or 40 seconds long. Oh well, I might be screwed.

Hmmm...haven't had any issues with SUPER installing any sort of tool bar. Been using the program for a few years now. In fact, I just upgraded to (I think) the latest version (Aug 30, 2011) and didn't have to install a toolbar. Was there a way to disable the tool bar's installation and still do the SUPER program?

I could e-mail you the set up file I used but it's just under 39 Mb in size. I think gmail lets you send up to 25...
