the pelican forums are pretty cool. Seahawk makes buying a rifle easy..
wow, alot of good things happen here. i often wonder if this place didnt do something incredible, like find someone a JOB.
i recently mentioned in a long lost thread about looking for a .22 rifle. i wanted an older model after blasting a can away with burnin's ancient remington..seahawk stepped up and said the magic words, (well he typed them).."i have one". several email exchanges later we have a deal worked out..even the "red tape" of shipping a rifle into california was smoothed out by seahawk communicating directly with my FFL friend. i just got a new email that the rifle is on the way!! seahawk sent the rifle BEFORE he sent me his address, so that i could even send him a check for the rifle+shipping. what a guy. i just want to thank him here openly for selling me a great rifle, that has been in his family since new. thank you Paul. you flat out floored my wife. i will take great care of the rifle, i promise. cliff. p.s. i cant wait to monkey roll over to my FFL's home..a short 10-day waiting period away. poor poor empty beer cans are gonna get riddled with inexpensive bullets. |
22 rifles are a bunch of fun. PP is a great place full of great folks.
|
Maybe Paul or you could find me a Walther model 1 22 rifle.
Or maybe I should start my own thread. Congrats and that's cool , enjoy ! SxS |
Key is, I KNOW where you live.
It is a Winchester Model 52, built in 1928. It has been in a case for years, idle. It was my camping gun when I was a kid, replaced in my heart when my Grandfather gave me a Marlin 39A carbine when I was twelve. I hate to see guns sit. As I wrote Cliff: Shoot it well and often. |

Excellent!!! Paul and cliff are both great guys, so I'm glad this worked out!
Cliff, back in 2007, George K (kach22i) got my resume to his wife who gave it to her friend, an IT recruiter. I interviewed with the company and hired in as soon as I left Ford in 2007, so I did get a job through a Pelican connection!! |
Both Paul & Cliff are great guys, so I'm not surprised that this went well. Have fun Cliff, I've been contemplating a .22 for plinking purposes.
|
Yes Paul is a great guy. One of the best on the board. Proud to have him as a friend.
|
I've had, and my family has had, some remarkable experiences involving Pelican and Pelicans.
|
Got any more? Damm, those are sweet .22's!
Now go to the local gunshows and buy a brick of .22 and go have fun! |
Let's be honest...Vash makes it easy.
He is the little brother we all wish we had. And I am only returning the favor(s) I've received: on2wheels52 was so gracious and professional in selling me a M1A Carbine that is Jack's favorite gun; Dave (Targa911S) sold me a Springfield 1903 that is my favorite gun and we remain friends since we were able to meet each other; Whippedpuppy sold me a car I still own, my wife's favorite, and I'll always think fondly of him...much more. Joeaska helping me in Phoenix, Moses responding to emails concerning college choices, Rick taking a bunch of Naval Academy kids for a ride in his Porsche, corresponding with the Sup, Denis and the 356 Notch...on and on. I have received more than I have given, trust me. The gun thing, for me, is all about utility: I asked Jack about the Model 52, to sell or not to sell. He has a Savage WMR that is so dead nuts accurate is it weird. "Is Cliff a good guy", was all he asked. That seems to work for me. |
