Hot Springs ARK.

My wife and I are planning a trip up to Hot Springs by way of Lake Village ARK.
We are going to leave the New Orleans area and drive to Lake Village, about 5 1/2 hours. I'm looking for someone with local knowledge to give me pointers on whats in Lake Village, good rest., good pub,bar etc. Best hotel. Just spending one night there then on to Hot Springs. Once in Hot Springs we will do a run up Highway 7.

For a great little sports-themed bar and truly wonderful pizza, try Rocky's Corner, right across the street from the racetrack.

I used to live across the river in Greenville. Lake Chicot is a nice fishing lake but not much else to do there. You have the casinos at Greenville but you have them down your way, so no thrill there. I'd push on to HS and spend the extra time there. A fun place.
