Hay Supe - Happy Birthday! (but you didn't have to make up a alternate personality to anounce it! - just be a big mouth and say "Hay! Its My Birthday! Look At Me!)

It's not Superman... it's me. Lois Lane and I just love Supe.

I worked on the animated series, Superman. And it was imperative via the producers that Lois look good in a dress. That's why the artists had her skirts drawn very high, and her blouse drawn very tight. Now, when you work on a cartoon, each storyboard is submitted to Broadcast, Standards and Practices. BSP looks over the drawings in the storyboard, as well as the language in the script, and gives "constructive" criticism. One ongoing constructive bit of criticism of Lois was her skirts rode far too high, and there were too many up shots of her as if the intent was too look up her skirt. "Young boys and girls should not see this sort of representation of women in the proposed time segment that this series runs," (sic) was one critique. The ongoing joke of the series was what if Supes and Lois had sex? It was determined that if the virility of his Kryptonian sperm didn't kill her, the sheer thrust of his strength would split her in two. It could be one reason why Supes is a dufus do-gooder geek bordering on homosexuality, but hey, I'm a Batman fan. Happy b'day Man of Steel. ![]()

Gee, when you said you worked on the animated series, I was thinking of the old Max Fleisher Superman cartoons of the 40s, thinking:
How old IS dd?
