They make a lot of noise and can be fun to watch.

We had one sink last year, racing craft are exempt from buoyancy regulations, it was pulled out of the water and raced again later that day.

Fox news is reported to be covering the event. Last year a cable TV build show tried an entry, they filmed it which was kind of fun.

The photos look fun, but the camping area would make for a better track! Better layout map of sweepers, corners, tighter apex pick your line right and still swing wide I'm sure..

so for future DE hovercraft racing in my future:rolleyes: how DO you pick the best line with rear air rudders and steering with thrust?

The spectators have just one turn this year to view the craft on land. This is not typical, mostly used on land scarce or volunteer scarce courses/events.

I'm sure it will be fine, it will make land rescue (my typical duty) much easier.

VINMAN, I accidentally waterlogged my hull foam a few winter's back, need to get that sorted out before I do anything more with the craft. I've had just as much fun experimenting with the craft as I've ever had using it. I like to tinker.

The weather is expected to be perfect.

We set up the course today, racing starts at 1:00 PM Saturday. Trials and practice runs will be happening before hand.

The kid standing on the craft is 9 years old and weighs 60 lbs, he had a first great day of racing.
