Trick Display board for concours/shows, etc.

Yeah, I know..not a P-car. Evidently made by a "Car Show Depot"...

My Bullitt's Show Board - YouTube

Weak.

Needs a holographic spinning car with techno music playing from the base of the display. Go big or go home.

stomachmonkey 09-16-2011 11:17 AM

That was disappointing.

I thought we were going to see some hydraulically operated lifting spinning thing with mirrors so you can see the bottom.

krystar 09-16-2011 11:31 AM

wait...that's it? ..... i thought someting was gonna be spinning....or at very least mini fog machine with laser show

tchanson 09-16-2011 11:55 AM

On the plus side, it perfectly complements the Bluetooth earpiece.

Winning post of the thread.

(Side note: 2003 called -- they want their "I'm impotent and wear a bluetooth device in my ear, 'cause I'm so impotent!" )

Wait, he displays a Mustang - at car shows? And for that he needs a sign?

Wow.

That was a minute of my life I'll never get back.
I am underwhelmed. I wonder how much he spent for that little thing.

pwd72s 09-16-2011 01:35 PM

IUf it had been for a Singer 911, you guys would be thinking it's the greatest thing since the '73 RS...

Por_sha911 09-16-2011 01:41 PM

Not really. As small as it was, I think a telescoping easel and a sign board would work better because it would be closer to eye level and catch more attention.

here's what I don't get about you. it could have been any car from a Gullwing to a Miura SV to Peter Gregg's RSR and that still would have been the lamest thing anyone on this board has seen on youtube. has nothing to do with Porsche vs. Mustang. it was just really lame.

Why don't you understand that?

doug_porsche 09-16-2011 02:33 PM

Rube Goldberg is smiling.

You have to remember that this is displaying a car that is so concerned about weight that the driver can select from like 20+ Mood Lighting settings for the dash.

porsche4life 09-16-2011 02:38 PM

Looks like a pain in the butt to me, and also looks like it is the cheesy crap that is meant for tradeshow vendors...

I have a nice mirrored piece of plex to lean on a small aluminum easel at shows. I weight the easel down with my bag of cleaners. Works well and was cheap... ;)

Sorry, display boards are the cheesiest things at a car show. Do you list "smoked" tail lights on there? lol

Oh Haha 09-16-2011 04:16 PM

The car is cool and the guy is obviously proud of it but the board is silly.

BTW-did you see what the owner's YouTube handle is?

Wow. He has a car you can buy off the lot from any Ford dealer, a DoucheTooth in his ear, and a custom-made show board for a car that belongs in the mall parking lot.

All that's missing is one of those hide-and-go-seek dolls (but it's probably still in the trunk):

I can understand sign boards if the car is older and has had a complete restoration or maybe if its a newer car with a lot of mods, but for basically a showroom stock car; why? As for this high tech version of something that should be low tech, not worth it IMHO.

Jared at Pelican Parts 09-16-2011 05:11 PM

Ah the Bullitt Mustang, the 21st century equivalent of the California Special... and here's a little sign to prove it.

Oh wait, they are bringing back that name too..

DARISC 09-16-2011 05:59 PM

Yeah right, like that's a real Bullitt.

That's a replicar; no one risks taking a big bucks collector car like a real Bullitt to some Podunk car show.

ZLP 09-16-2011 07:19 PM

Were you on a call while you made that video?
