Todd ➡ Meth Damon

GH85Carrera 09-16-2013 05:31 AM

I have never seen a single episode. They had a story on the local TV news about a local lady that works as a technical support for the writers. She is a chemistry professor and she started the interview with "I just want to be clear I have NEVER made any meth" :)

She tries to keep the science parts of the show a bit more accurate. She looks just Betty Crocker.

An article I read said consultants from the DEA were involved in the meth lab scenes, both for accuracy as well as to censure revealing cooking secrets.

A recent Mythbusters segment questioned some of the chemical concoctions used on the show. I recall they tested the fulminated mercury bomb and the hydroflouric acid "defoliation rinse".

It is nice they are at least getting some experts involved.

How many typical TV shows have you seen where the computer expert can just bang on the keyboard while NEVER ever having to stop to backspace or hit return or touch a mouse and hack any other secure computer system or do absurd & ridiculous photo enhancements and other tasks. One show took a still frame from a video, enhanced the reflection in someones glasses and read the tag number on a car across the street in the shade. I bet there is no still camera on the planet that could capture that much detail under ideal conditions.

It is just make-believe, but if you base the story in the current real world keep it at least in the realm of possibilities.

I think Jesse will ultimately kill Walt in a cathartic rage. It's the only ending that makes sense to me.

A film prof I had in college quoted his mentor, director/editor Slavko Vorkapich's basic film making objective of "Suspending Disbelief" as a core element of basic story telling. In the end, it's really in the minds of the audience as to what seems plausible versus story elements that force you to say, "Oh, come on now", at which point the film maker, author or story teller has lost you.

Suspension of disbelief - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In that regard, that's one reason BBad is held in such high esteem.

One of my film pet peeves is showing an explosion that is all napalm and flame for effect. I prefer a more realistic effect that often has none of the above but instead black smoke, shrapnel and a concussive, earth-shaking effect. Think of real WWII battle footage and scenes from Saving Private Ryan and Hurt Locker. Few other films try for that level of realism.

It looks as if Todd rescues Jesse, but maybe not.

Walt used Saul's shuttle service to leave Albuquerque, but at some point in time returns to his burned out home.

Two episodes left to tie it all up.

How would one go about watching the whole series from the beginning? I've seen maybe one episode.

Netflix has streaming up here.

Nostril Cheese 09-16-2013 11:51 AM

Walt's not going to save Jesse. Something to consider, everything that went wrong on the show WAS Jesse's fault.

Walt should have killed Skyler. God she's annoying.

Not on my Netflix.

However, they seem to be here up to the current episode.

Hey Nostril....you say Skylar is annoying.....but how about Marie? Talk about a drama queen....she's the ABSOLUTE worst!

If she get's bumped off before the end of the series - I don't care how it ends for anyone else...please!

BTW- when Walt told Jesse he watched as Jayne vomited to death - that was indicative of something confrontational later on between those two. mark my words....Jesse will have his revenge - one way or another.

OK, that was really good. Loved the cameos.

Finished third episode, season one last night on Netflix.

He choked out the Mexican dude with the bike lock after singing the kids Dad's furniture store jingle with him. OMG. While his side kick is pounding a brown toothed skank in the hotel.

It's almost too intense for me. My daughter says I have no clue. I ain't coming back to this thread cause I will learn too much.
