1. I HAVE a job! Being laid off for 6 months a while back helps me keep that in perspective.
2. 5pm! And it happens everyday!

OK, my current job, normally, I'll work four 10 hour days, so I'll have 3 days a week off. When that happens, it'll be beautiful. In the mean time, we are getting as much OT as we want. I was working about 65 hrs a week. I've gone down alternating between 55 hours one week and 65 the next. That way I don't get burned out. I get paid by the hour. Pay checks are good.

Seahawk, well said, sorry we didn't connect that Army/Navy game day.

Best part of my job, the buck stops here. I can't imagine working for someone. The boss would never think of firing me.

Even thou I take care of people, people take care of me.

I always go home for lunch, my dog has always loved that part of the day, lunchmeat.

Always thanking the patient for walking in my office, they do have a choice because it is a priviledge to care for them, they are all like my Mom and Dad or children.

My employer sends to around the World to places that I'm sure I'd never have a chance to see otherwise. My job also gets me involved in gunfire and blowing schit up! What's not to like?

You have a really interesting job. I always like reading about your travels.

I'll get there someday...I'm actually going to New Orleans on a shoot next week. (It's not as exotic as where you guys shoot, but it's a start)

The fact that I can carry my office in my backpack. Already this year, I've been to a dozen countries, and the year is still young :) My office goes with me in airplanes, cars, dirt bikes through the jungles of Costa Rica and the mountains of Montana, and on a Ducati blasting 120MPH across new countryside. Doesn't get much better than that.

I love the technical aspects of surgery, esp laparoscopy. Getting to help someone with an acute problem is very rewarding, and I love the fact that every single day is different. The stress has been getting to me a bit lately, but it is the price you pay.

I am a Heritage Interpreter at the only Tidal Power plant in the Americas.
http://www.nspower.ca/en/home/environment/renewableenergy/tidal/annapolis.aspx

The Power Company trusts me to do the job my way with the staff I want.

Every Summer, I meet thousands of people from all over the world, some who have had this place on their "bucket list" for years, some who just stumble across it and have no idea what it is. We get 'em all, from little kids to retired (and active) engineers.

I believe it was Mark Twain who said, "Work is what ever a body is obliged to do. Play is whatever a body is not obliged to do."
I play all day.

Lovin' it. SmileWavy

The best part? I haven't had to work in an office since 1977.

Best part of my job is working from home 95% of the time. I can work when I feel like it - which for me is usually late at night.

Oh Haha 09-21-2011 04:56 PM

Not doing the same thing day after day. Some days I'm in the office, others I drive a truck.

I can honestly say I really like the job I have. I just wish I would have found this industry 20 years ago instead of vending.:(

I get 3 weeks off annually for vacations.
I'm allowed to run a side freelance production company and take days off for that.
I have a wide range of responsibilities that aren't limited to my original hire reasons.
It's a small family owned company that is laid back.

My job rocks.

Shaun, up to you, your thread...I'll delete if you want.

The Post I made was about leadership, which is what I love about my company, the fact that I own it and I get to lead it.

I just re-read your quotes. Don't mind me. My bad.

I have the perfect teenaged boy job - I draw cars, I get to go to car shows (for work), I get to drive some really fun cars, I get to go to car show media parties, I get car swag...

I love my job!!!!
