why not get a regular metal cabinet and line the complete inside with cedar ?

They usually are not deep enough. Clothes hangers like 28".

Mr. Z Man - the project looks great.

IIRC you live in the north east? In the above photos it shows the wood 4X4's extending into the concrete slab. .................................................. ....................

Milt/Zeke can probably speak to this better than I.

Great project BTW!

I just saw this and I will speak. If the wood was wrapped in copper, I might have done that. But no way would an inspector let that go here where I work.

Recipe for rot.

But, yes indeed, the garage looks top notch. Even if it is blue ;)

Very nice work, I'm in the middle of a similar project too. Good choice of posters on the cabinet btw. :)

Nice work so far! I can't believe how much that slab sunk...or that someone used bricks under the columns. It's like an episode of Holmes on Homes.

Well, I live in New Jersey, so what did you expect? At least they didn't find any uncover any dead bodies linked to 50 year old missing person reports...

....so far....

Can anyone identify what's under the front legs of the workbench?

Large black checkers from Cracker Barrel stacked and glued together.

Hey Z - Didn't see this sooner... I would have done the job for less if you closed your eyes when the slab was poured......

Seriously, burying those wood posts is a big no-no.

I'd get the contractor to fix it now, better than trying later when it's a problem, or the buyer's home inspector holds up your closing when you try to sell the house.

You got permits and inspections for this job, right? SmileWavy
