What to do with a LS1
 

A friend of mine has had an LS1 with a 4L60-E transmission that's been sitting in his garage for years.

I'm trying to get him motivated to use it for a project. What would be a fun transplant for that engine that wouldn't cost a ton of $$$$.?

In order of what I think is the best use:

1) Send it to me.

2) Put it in a Lotus 7 replica.

3) Build an Ultima GTR

Old Chevelle or Camaro, essentially, a bolt in, I would assume. Pretty easy to do. Finding an old Chevelle that isn't beat to crap or rusted to hell, probably not as easy.

Miata, works really well. Not quite a "bolt-in" but there is TONS of info out there on the subject.

there is a guy that comes out to our local PCA autocrosses with a triumph TR-6. it has a LS1 drivetrain sitting in a full tube chassis. the triumph supplies the skin. it is wicked fast.

There is a guy here in Houston with a 914 with an LS1. I do not know the HP. He also had a "mild" short block 914 with only 300HP.

Preferably if it's still got one of those HOV lane stickers stuck to its bumpers. ;)
