Another vote for the $300 windows laptop.

I like the Apple products but you pay...

Once you've had MAC you'll never go back-

DUDE- I was hardcore Sony VAIO until last year when I bought this MacBook Pro 13.3 laptop. This thing works PERFECTLY! I've owned it for 21 months now, and I've shut it down maybe four times. It has NEVER given me the equivalent of a "blue screen". When you open Google Chrome, it takes about 3-4 seconds, and when I click on the icon for Pelican Parts...the site opens up in 5-6 seconds. The same performance with my old Vaio, which I still have [with almost nothing on its hard drive, and NO anti-virus software], takes about 30-40 seconds. WITH the old AVG software, I was looking at around 60 seconds to open the computer and get to this website-

8-10 seconds from opening the laptop to posting here on the MAC, versus around 60 seconds on a good day with the Vaio.

Hello?

-I kept the old Vaio, had it rebuilt, and had Sony Windows XP re-installed in case I had to run software that the new Mac wouldn't run. I have yet to need it. I have no anti-virus software on it, and just use it for gaming or if someone comes to visit, or just a backup. It is still slower than a diesel Chevette with an automatic transmission, air conditioning on, and a 3000 pound trailer attached. Did I mention that it has a 3.08 ghz processor?

N!

Yea, if you want opinions you will find them. Facts are sometimes hard to get, but opinions are always there. ;)

I wanted to get a macbook air, but did not really want to spend the money on that. So, I got me an HP pavillon dm1. Very happy with it, and it cost me only $405.
