phoenix_iii 09-26-2011 03:13 PM

Hell of a hang fire!! (right? I didn't see him strike the butt or anything in the trigger guard).

Hugh R 09-26-2011 03:15 PM

Wow, just wow.

Christien 09-26-2011 03:15 PM

I like the comment: "Darwin just missed". :)

LJ851 09-26-2011 03:15 PM

Wow! Darwin's aim was a little off that day.

Edit: i'm a slow typer.

onlycafe 09-26-2011 03:44 PM

at least he had a safety vest on so no one else would shoot him.

KevinP73 09-26-2011 03:47 PM

Why in the world would you EVER look down that end of a barrel. Forget that you just had a misfire, why?

McLovin 09-26-2011 04:11 PM

Good thing he clings to his guns and religion.

968rz 09-26-2011 04:17 PM

Holy Sh**!
That man should be a lotto ticket on his way to the hospital.

widgeon13 09-26-2011 04:31 PM

Wow, what was he thinking?

azasadny 09-26-2011 04:45 PM

Why, that would be a waste of money. Sure he's just used his quota of good luck for a long time to come.

I suspect he had to change his pants after that. Can you imagine if he hadn't been quite as lucky. It would not have been a pretty picture.

Brando 09-26-2011 05:17 PM

Amazing! That's why you wait at least 30 seconds for a hang-fire... to see if it really is a hang-fire, or a dud.

cgarr 09-26-2011 05:25 PM

Reminds me of this one! This may have been posted?

He is obviously alone and taping himself.

Nearly shooting yourself in the face is stupid enough, but then you go and post a video if it on the net?

He may actually be too stupid to kill himself.

Flieger 09-26-2011 05:34 PM

Damn, now that's a ricochet! How could that happen? Was that a steel plate he was shooting at?

Normy 09-26-2011 05:41 PM

My dad did that exact thing in the fall of 1981. He wasn't wearing a hat, the 20 gauge shotgun that he'd bought for my 9 year old brother simply went off when he gently set the butt gently down on the ground.

-The gun was some off-brand single-shot from Brazil that he had purchased at K-mart in Michigan. The safety was too loose, as was the trigger.

Hello?

Trust me, the gun was destroyed soon after! I shudder to think what would have happened had the barrel been pointed a few inches another way. I would have lost my father at 15.....

Instead, he is still happily inflicting damage to golf courses today, at age 69. I'm proud of him and I love him!

[!]

-There are two morals of this story:

1. Gun safety is everything! If you aren't careful, you aren't just killing "you", you are killing "you" to several dozen people. While you owe nothing to yourself, you owe a HELL of a lot to them! Guns are small powerful devices, not unlike our Porsches. Only, instead of filling a garage, they only fill your hand. DON'T be fooled by the small size- these will kill you dead quick! Take guns seriously. My dad did, but he let his attention lapse ONE time; he was lucky!

2. BUY QUALITY EQUIPMENT!!!!! I suspect that I'm preaching to the quire by saying this to Porsche owners. But it is real damn easy to buy a cheap gun. Makarov, or several other handguns, along with the cheap Brazilian shotgun that almost killed my dad! The reassuring notion that the gun came from the big retailer K-mart can lul you into a sense of security; Nothing could be further from the truth! Buy name brand guns that you've researched online, and buy them from reputable dealers.

N!

Is there a possibility this is a fake?

I thought why is he taping himself shooting at plastic bottles less than ten feet away????? But if it's fake, it's a pretty good fake....the slo-mo sure makes it look real.

99% of what we see in action type movies these days is fake, so it could be.

flatbutt 09-26-2011 06:41 PM

in addition to the 30 second rule for a hang fire he violated the Prime Directive....NEVER point the weapon at anything you don't intend to destroy.

ben parrish 09-26-2011 07:38 PM

Wow...what a dumb ars

gtilove 09-26-2011 08:05 PM

I think it is fake. Listen to the sound of the gun firing, the last one is quite different.

He pumped the shotgun after the first hang fire. Probably loaded two cartridges.

Two "cartridges" in a shotgun chamber? How's that gonna fit? The action would jam open.

Who dresses up like Elmer Fudd, sets up a camera and stands 10' away from plastic water-filled bottles to shoot?

Too much acting going on afterward, and the last blast coming from the barrel is not consistent with a shotgun blast.

We have established that the shooter in the pic is a Darwin Award waiting to happen... I opt that he may be using the wrong-size cartridges.

Danny_Ocean 09-27-2011 12:45 PM

Why the puff of smoke after the third "shot"? Where'd that come from? He's still holding the gun securely after it goes off in his face? No screaming "Holy MotherFather!" after the final shot?

Still fake.
