Get a thorough physical/ check-up to include basic blood work. My 7 year stint of severe insomnia was due to undiagnosed liver disease. Now that the liver condition is under control, no more insomnia. That was my only indication of a potentially very serious issue.

I feel like I should mention that sleep disorders run in my family. My grandpa on moms side showed signs of narcolepsy when he was younger. My moms brother has wrecked multiple vehicles and is diagnosed and on medications for narcolepsy....

I would have wrecked a pickup when I was 16 if my dad hadn't grabbed the wheel...

You don't want them to sleep over, just to stop by from about midnight to 1am.

It's great when my girlfriend comes over late then goes home to sleep in her own bed because she has to work the next day. Best of both worlds.

Don't do that. Taking a nap in the evening (something I do maybe 1 or 2 times a year, will kill my ability to go to sleep at a reasonable hour. Do something to make sure you don't take an impromptu nap before bed time.

A not so hot co-ed will always work in a pinch...
