Use a rat trap with peanut butter spread on the trigger, but make sure to stick a small crunchy cheeto snack - or a nacho cheese dorito snack into the peanut butter too. I've had 100% success rate - seems the smell of the cheese is irresistible to the guys!

We used to smear peanut butter in a cotton ball. They start tugging and BAM!

I put some glue traps in my garage, but felt bad when I caught large lizards on them. I have the glue traps around the house and they are cricket magnets. Haven't seen any rodents though.

thre is NEVER just one

secure the traps with wire, they like to run along walls

You probably have them in your attic too

Whatever you do, make sure you seal up the hole(s) into the garage. Plug the hole with steel wool. They don't like to chew on it. If that spot can get wet, then use stainless steel wool. I had rats in the garage too, but they weren't living there, just coming in to visit. I sealed all the ways in, and no more rats. We still have them outside of course (caught 10 in the last 3-4 months using avocado for bait). Good luck!

A cat. We live in the canyon and there has to be rats around. None of us have seen rats for a long long time because we have a few cats that run around the hills in the back. The racoons and coyotes help also i can only assume.

Hmmmm, sorry I missed that (the one deleted on prev page) but moving on....I did put down glue traps yesterday and this AM one was missing ? It was on a shelf under a window. Looked on the floor and there it was...empty except for two foot prints and a lot of hair pulled off. Never saw any animal get out of one of those before. Need to move the cars outside. My Aussie went into the garage this AM and just went straight to the left rear wheel well of my wife's Explorer....stuck his nose up in there, then just stared at me....good dog...moved a glue trap to that tire.

I had forgotten about the steel wool in the hole....great comment. Will also get PNButter and add to snap traps. Now we also have a blue jay inside our soffet vent. I know this is a bird. I mean, I do love animals, but dammit....
