On that one ,I'd guess $500-$750.

1911A1.
To nme it would be worth 3x more if it had been left alone. I'd say Mike is in the area. Jim |

ps: Hi Jim (Dueller)...hope you are well! |
KC, I'd have more to say about it if it was in my hands. I'm assuming it's a Colt frame (like the slide), can't tell if they match or not. It's been re-blued, different sites, grip safety, & trigger (at the least). But most any Colt that's a shooter will bring $500.
Perhaps I have the wrong attitude about the things but I prefer 'originality' on my keepers. And for the ones I have for sale I don't want to have to explain to the potential buyer why someone f@#$ed up (I meant modified) a perfectly good gun. another Jim |
I just had no idea an original (unmodified) would fetch upwards of 1500, and I know you "know" these things and have quite a few. Now about that twin-reverb...should I offer $125, or is that too much? :)
Ps: Hope BOTH of you are well...D just hasn't been around much. |
Too bad someone modified that old war horse...
|
Yeah, it's a shooter. Had they left it alone it would be in the +1500. But I agree now it's a 500 gun.

Hi Neil! Sorry we haven't had that "cold one" yet, but we will! I'm holding out for On2wheels...he'll offer $40 :)

Yes Jim, the GI was my grandfathers, and the CC is mine (late 70s, purchased new)...Thanks!
|
$46.
|
I wouldn't give anyone $500 for that 1911...more like $350.00.
I don't like to make EXCUSES for stuff I sell... At Rock Island Auctions in Moline Ill at the beginning of September 2011...SN 33 Colt US military 1911 SOLD FOR $109,000.00...I posted a Thread on this Board reflecting that value... "AND I had no idea they were worth that kind of money..." KC |

$49.50 final offer.

Lord knows I have some realitively expensive guns, but as a bit of reality check tabs, just how many people on this forum do you think are willing to pay $100k for a firearm?

$100

Is there any history or special story with it? If so it could be worth a lot. My neighbor has a 1911 from Korea that won him a silver star and a bunch of other ribbons and he said I get it when he dies as he likes my black powder rifles??! To me that would be valued very high!
|
I've just decided to keep it as my absolute minimum was 100.05...I'm sorry we couldn't reach an agreement on price. Have we sufficiently hijacked Dueller's thread yet :)?

"Before" and "After"
Here's a M1911A1 that a previous owner re-blued poorly and then a pic after I had it sandblasted and then re-Parkerized it. These old guns can be "brought back" but they will never have their original value. But then again, if it's got sentimental value, it really doesn't matter...
Before... more screwed up than a soup sandwich... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1317477188.jpg After... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1317477256.jpg |
