Yeah, Thanks, but showing number of unread emails, new voice messages and the time are pretty standard for phones. The 'Live tile' theme is an effort to bring more dynamic info to the user as standard -rather than the exception of message count or time.

Here ya go enzo. Windows Phone 7's Live Tiles Come to iPhone | PCWorld

OH, LOOKY who showed up! ....on this Windows 8 thread. --hint hint (read; who's here to Bash WHAT?) ...dumb ass.

Did I say anything windows related? None whatsoever... I thought about pointing out some of your idiocy when you totally missed the AOL W8 comparison.... ;)

As far as Windows 8, if it isn't anymore stable than 7 on my work laptop, I'll have none of it... Damn thing is slow to respond, crashes, freezes, BSOD... All in the last 2 weeks....

remaking my point. --You came to a thread on Windows 8 to hate.

Nothing but hate from Sidney J.

You should install OSx on that BSOD box - THEN all your problems will go away.

Did somebody mention Windows . . .

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1342988392.jpg

I was cleaning out my home office to day so I can paint it for the 1st time in 14 years. I had a closet full of windows.

Is there any compelling reason to move up from 7?

Ian

If it was personal use, I wouldn't be fooling around with it... But the software my company writes is for windoze... So I have to walk in and rock it on a windows box when doing training...

I actually came here out of a general curiosity for all things tech, it was only when I saw more of your blind bashing, ignoring the obvious, and generally being you did I feel the need to tell another poster not to waste his breath on you...

And on that note, neither will I after this... I think everyone here knows where your bias lies, and that if any of us is a fanboy it is you. Anytime Apple is brought up you must point out how windows is better, and you are the first to laud MSFT. I find it sad, that you who claims to be an intelligent, successful engineer, feel the need to get this haughty with a young, know nothing college student over the internet, over a topic that we will obviously never agree on. I will take the higher road and leave you and your bias down here in the muck, but somehow I feel you will continue to try to sling your scheisse, as you so continually do.

I bet there is a bridge to get to your island, which is fitting, gives you something to live under, troll...

I'm not seeing it, for most machines.

At the time I tried it, I had a Slate 500 (HP). The best part was the faster boot time, and the lighter weight of the OS. ...but that was Developer Preview (read: plenty of time to bloat). fwiw, more recently I picked up a Dell XT2 (convertable tablet w/ pen) from one of the MSFT developers. It had dual boot 8 Consumer Preview on a separate partition. -I deleted it. Reason being, I really like one app (Evernote RitePen) which doesn't play well with Win8. ...IOW, if there is any compelling reason to move up from 7, I'm not seeing it.

....but then, I also still have/use my little Win XP Samsung SSD 7" tablet from back, years before Apple invented the tablet computer. --if it works, it works. ...don't fix it if it ain't broken.

Good. I am quite happy with 7. Thankfully, I no longer get upgrade fever easily. ;)
