That's nice.

I saw a new powder blue Bug in front of the local Porsche/VW dealership. Powder blue is not it's best color. Overall the form was pleasing though.

I don't like the Orange, but as an old beetle fan from way back, I think it looks kind of neat.

That said, I have been very unimpressed with the Audi/VW quality on my daughters "New Beetle".

+1

I had a 99 Turbo. It was good for about 35k, but it went rapidly down hill from there. My sister bought a Beetle convertible, and it was basically broken from day one. The roof never sealed properly, and the body would creak terribly going over bumps.

Good looking cars, but very cheap construction.

Saw a non-RS black one at the local P-Car dealer last week.

I did not care for it but we all like different things. I have read they tried to make it more appealing to the male population.

New VWs cannot hold a candle to the old air cooled ones. Not even on the map of cars I would consider buying.

Fixed that for ya... ;)

In fairness I'd consider a 997 cabrio - but only if I couldn't find a comparably-priced, similar-condition 993 cabrio...

I want those decals, in silver, for the sides of my '73.

The problem with them in the US is that we get the Mexican made ones... We saw that when we got a Jetta Wagon made in Poland. The build was so much better than the mexican made bug we traded off.

A hot rod bug always seemed like an oxymoron to me. However, there is precedence for this RS.

I wonder if the R Gruppe would extend my membership if I brought one to the Treffen. ;) :)

Lookin more and more like a 911 everday ;)

Horrible...trying way too hard to be something will never be.

Trying to be a cheap Pcar because the real thing is so damned expensive. How much do they cost?

Looks like a girly car.

Knock 3 inches out of that roof line and 2 inches out of the waistline and it might look okay.

Jim Richards 10-04-2011 06:40 AM

The car itself looks OK, but the decals look like s___.

My '04 Jetta is Mexican, and it has been pretty good, so far (knocking on wood as I type this).
