Only Red Bull could put this together

Construction on F1 track resumes |
I hope they can pull it off, because I desperately want to go.

That was pretty cool. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Awesome! Thanks Glen...

I guess I saw that on another forum last week. Shame to put a car through that punishment. That dust cloud alone was distressing to me.
The US and F1 seem to have problems with syncopation. I sorta wish the track was being built for another thrust. |
no mention if maybe all the fires in the area might have delayed construction?
|
that sunken track will be hard to see any action on
maybe a tv show but will suckkkk live |
^It's far from completed. That grade will change radically as construction proceeds.

Should have hand grooved the tires for the dirt. The horses were faster through the turns.
|
I'll have to save up so I can afford a ticket. F1 is something I'd like to see in person.

The car was prior season tub with a mule motor. They even had electric fans mounted for the radiators and oil coolers. He had a lot of the raw footage on his computer and it was wild. The guys in the helicopter felt like they were taking fire form all the rocks. Quote:

The camera work was really incredible. I absolutely loved the slow-motion smoke off the tires during the "doughnut". Very, very cool!!!

Are K&N filters any good? :)

Sweet ride. I enjoyed the vid.

Very, very good video.
While I'm disappointed that F1 is not returning to the northeast - I watched them at the Glen lots of years ago - I'm happy they will be back in the US. And hopefully not repeating the Indy fiasco. Thank you VERY much for posting the video. |
So what do tickets usually run? I need to start saving up!

Austin hasn't published prices yet. Sherwood |
I somehow doubt that Offroad F1 car had and F1 engine in it.
My bet is, they stuck a small, relatively low power production car engine in it with in a reinforced frame (F1 engine is normally load bearing part of the chassis) and then over dubbed the F1 car engine noise. Because if you think about it, F1 cars can spin their tires on tarmac, so on dirt, you'de hear some pretty funky revving and bouncing on the limiter..it would never be fluent...They could never hope to transfer power with such a light car, at such low speeds with so much power. |

That picture brings up the a off topic question. How in the heck can Infiniti stick their name on a Renault? I guess cubic dollars will overcome anything. I wonder if Infiniti is giving any technical advise?
|
Sure thing, but did you see that car go offroad, or one they rigged up to look just like it?
It's reasonable to believe they used the real one for the tarmac parts of the vid. I just don't buy they took the same car in the dirt. For one thing those engines are to delicate , they are not designed with air filters that can cope with all the dust... And like i said, there is NO way in hell they can get the power down on dirt. And there is NO way a driver can make the engine sound so smooth on dirt as it did in the video. Dirt will give them less traction then driving around in the wet, with rain tires. look up some wet F1 video's , listen to the engine when they aquaplane... It is not a smooth sound |

They, Red Bull, brought one car. It was a prior year tub with prior year spec motor. Yes, I am sure the motor was toast after the 4 days but since it was prior spec it had no significant value to the team. My son said that after every shot the crew guys were all over the car working on it. |
