Econoline 61-67 cab over pickup

Any Pelicans with one? Any Dodge A100's ? Any VW pickups? I always wanted one or all of the above. Would like to hear opinions about any of them. Are they reasonably driveable or do you have to spent big time just to keep them going. Am looking at a '61 Ford now and I'm tempted. I'm sure there are lots of sites to join with forums but I'd rather start here first. thanks

a buddy had one in 70-71
it was a rust bucket then
62 ford econo- pickup
6 with three on the tree and not much else

corvair had one too

they were bottom rung on the truck price scale
and equipped to match bottom price too

ford six is a good motor
dodge six even better
I don't think they got v8 in vans until the pickups died
they share car and pick up parts
so cheap and eazy to get
trim and int maybe hard pricie
as are body parts

drives like an old van or worse unloaded
nose heavy rear light noisy as hell you sit on the motor
hot too
no power anything on most of them
the rust
most died from rust

Not owned by narrow minded people!

I always wondered how much front brake is needed to do nose wheelies under braking ?

Those things are cool as anything. I'd love to have one of them. A guy around here has one all done up.

I had a VW crew cab ( 1961 ) with a built up 2110cc motor.

Very fun.

I had a Dodge A 100 for a while. It was handy and relatively comfortable to drive. The Scant Six and Torqueflite are nearly indestructable, but it was underpowered by today's standards. I scrapped it when it got so rusty it was dangerous to drive.
