any attorneys that dabble in employment law?

I'm in a really screwed up situation and have been told to seek an attorney, but I'm not sure if things are really to that point yet...

find an attorney in your state who specializes in this

start looking immediately

you can go to the county courthouse - ask them how to search court records and then plug in the name of your employer as a "party" to see how much they have been sued before; then get the names of the attorneys who sued them off of the records

do not neglect to contact your state agency that polices this kind of stuff

do not write any letters, Emails or faxes and do NOT sign anything

So anyone want to recommend a south Carolina based attorney who's willing to sue the catholic diocese of Charleston? Given the reputation of the church, I suspect this will never get anywhere bear a courthouse...

if you have no other leads, just call the local bar assn. and they will give you some random names - maybe for employment law

ask each one if they charge for an initial consult - when you go in ask "if you were not to do this case, who in your opinion is the best atty in this practice area"

you also want to know how long they've been in business

Good Luck

Significantly, the Catholic Church prides itself on its longstanding support of working men and women. The Church has consistently supported labor causes and labor organizations for hundreds of years. I agree with you that the Church is likely to find an informal settlement arrangement.

I really hope it doesn't get even close to that far, but the events of the last 2 weeks have left me emotionally and physically drained and a touch bitter. I think I need to Google for a shrink as well...this whole thing just sucks...

Does this have anything to do with your "lady friend" dilemma at work you told us about a little while back? If that's an unwelcome question or something you don't feel like discussing, just ignore it.

Yes, don't really care to discuss further details publicly...

Probably not the situation most would assume. It's pretty convoluted. I'm at a big, non work related, social function and she's at my table. Awkward and uncomfortable.
