You're lost, totally lost. I had three of 'em (a 750 Sport and an 851 for the street and a 350 Single vintage racebike) and loved every one.
Here's the mantra: German cars, Italian motorcycles. |

I picked up this thing a couple of months back:-

Lots of great bikes there. |
Stop it with the bikes!!!!
WANT!!! |
Resistance is futile. Thanks for all the comments. With life as it is, it seems riding opportunities are a couple hours every so often. The adrenalin and overall experience is such a rush of performance and aesthetics, but also an appreciation for the character and soul of what a bike should be.
Smitten, for sure! |
Congrats! Ride safely!!

I picked up a Ducati St4 earlier this summer and I have been modding it since then. I have racked up the miles between the nasty rain we have had for 2 months. By the time it appears next spring it will be a different animal all together.

My Mille at grattan in 07, just a flesh wound. I would eventually kill it in 09 with a highside and ensuing ball of flames as it slid down the track. Parted it out and the motor just helped a friend win a regional championship.

Ducatis are certainly pretty bikes (except for my friend's 999) but once my lower back is too far gone to keep riding a sportbike, there'll be a Triumph Speed Triple in my garage. Love those triples!

Congratulations! Represent for the air-cooled crowd!

beautiful Monster! I'd love a S2R/S4R/S4RS one day!

Lovely ride! Congratulations! I traded the M696 and am awaiting the arrival of the 2012 M1100.

I am not a biker. I just had an S4RS for 2 months and I honestly felt like Death was haunting me around every bend - I could not shake it - even in full gear with a helmet. Sooo vulnerable, just hanging on. . . barely. . . to this missile.
On an open runway access road (no barriers, cars, people) in broad daylight I lit it up a few times. When the front end eventually came down, I realized I had thwarted death and there is nothing quite like that experience. Like you just WON! :D That said, I am thrilled to say I might live to see an offspring someday. Bikes are great. The sound was phenomenal. The redline, the acceleration, the Ducati vibrato. The problem is that it is so fast, you must mash the binders to get slowed down for the corners and it offers you nothing in the case of an unforeseen emergency. Be careful. |

At least you got a nice furry squid as a present.

LOL at the squid pic.

One other thing: that bike has a plastic gas tank, correct? You can do searches on Ducati-specific message boards regarding tank expansion and exposure to ethanol-enhanced gas.
