Counterclockwise circles for 500 laps is a geological oddity. Waltrip is pretty entertaining but his take on a real road course does highlight the fact that NASCAR is more about advertising than driving.

I DVR'd the race and plan on watching it starting this evening. I like road courses better than the 1 1/2 mile ovals but Bristol used to be worth watching before they redid the track. Dover is another that's worth watching imo and I still watch Daytona and Talladega. I don't watch NASCAR like I used to but generally have it on while I'm working in the shop.....rather watch the Monster Trucks free style than NASCAR these days lol. Yeah, old Jaws can really liven up a party....or kill one depending on how you look at it.
