SAD lights?
My wife and son both suffer from something that looks like Seasonal Affective Disorder (both are completely dragging and depressed again now that the rain has returned to the Pacific Northwest).
Does anybody use light therapy successfully? Any recommendations for lamps? Thanks for the help. |
My Doctor has a particular interest in S.A.D. He is in Tualatin. PM me for a name.

Check out sunbox.com. I got one of those lights last year. I think it helps. They moved my office to the other side of the building (morning sun) so its less needed now.

Whenever i'm sad, i stop being sad and be awesome again..
true story. |
My wife bought me a special lampe a few years ago, but the company she bought it from went under. I can't really tell if it helps me or not...

Hey, we in the soggy part of the NW had about 7 weeks of summer this year. What more could we ask for?

I went green and bought another house in Arizona, no bulbs required.
I only get SAD when it's raining and gray here and I am not there. |
I use a product called goLite, it's an intense blue light that you bathe in for about 20 minutes a day. Expensive, but it works for me. I also force myself to spend at least 45 minutes to an hour outdoors each day, no matter what the weather.
I just checked on Amazon, it looks like the company was bought by Philips, and the look of the device has changed since I got mine, but the basic blu lite looks about the same. |
