Rally Car Driving Schools ?

My wife and I are avid car and bike people through and through. We have taken an interest lately in the WRC (on TV) and find it very entertaining. Especially so with all the current camera technology that really makes the experience life-like.

We are thinking of 'attending' a rally school to get the real deal experience. There aren't that many in the US so the choices seem few. Anyone here have a personal reccomendation or story??

To us it would seem like a lot of fun for the money for a 1-to-3 day course where they provide the car, equipment, etc

Spoke with these guys when I was volunteering at the Boeing Classic. Seemed pretty legit and car guys. Been operating for over a year now.

Yes.....................there seems to be very few on East coast. I like the Dirtfish school concept - (almost) full blown AWD rally car with lots of seat time - just on trhe opposite end of the world

What a perfect thing for a husband and wife to do together. He can drive and she can yell instructions at him every 1/2 a second.

Where is the driving school?
The European Rally School is located in Starke, Florida. Starke is located approximately 25 minutes from Gainesville, FL and 90 minutes from Orlando. The nearest commercial airport is in Gainesville. Private and corporate planes can fly into Keystone Heights Airpark, which is adjacent to the driving school.

What type of car will I drive?
Beginners taking a one-day rally course drive a 2WD Ford Focus. Students in multi-day, advanced programs also drive an AWD Toyota Celica. All the cars used have a standard (manual) transmission.

Are there other activities at the school?
Yes. The facility also features a Karts Course and an ATV course. An SUV driving course is also offered.

Can I get my SCCA (Sports Car Club of America) Rally License from you?
Yes. Our instructors have been authorized by the SCCA to provide the training required for licensing.

How old must I be?
The minimum age to participate in the course is 18. You must also possess a valid driver's license.

What is the price range for driving courses?
The cost ranges from $870 to $5000, depending on the number of days, group size and type of car. Classes range in length from one to five days.

How many driving tracks (stages) do you have?
Six. They include:
• 1 mile skill pad and slalom
• 2.1 mile standard rally course
• 3.1 mile advanced rally course
• 3.2 mile gravel rally course
• 1000 yard WKA Kart Road Course
• 3 mile SUV 4wd dirt skill course
