With a billion Hondas on the road, you would think it's easy to find alloy wheels...

Our daughter drives a 2001 Honda Accord with plastic hubcaps that are scratched and faded. I thought I'd dress it up with some alloy wheels. Years ~93 to 03 work I believe.

Anyway, finding a set of 15" stock wheels has been elusive. Craigslist and eBay have been a bust with either $100 wheels each or they are scratched, curbed, etc.

I've seen good BWW E30 wheels going for $100 for a set locally.

Like I said, with so many Hondas on the road, it seems strange I can't find a decent used set for a reasonable price locally.

Ideas?

you are expecting to buy for less then scrap value ?
scrap metal prices are way up recently

50 each is about avg low ask for stock wheels
and honda split the v6 cars off with 5x114.7 vs the 4 bangers with 4 bolts and mostly steel wheels
at 4x114.7 and the smaller cars with 4x100 and narrower wheels
so not many 4x114.7 accord size alloys stock

I could go with $200 but $400 is not worth it to me.

What bolt pattern? Have you checked TireRack?

I bought new Konig wheels for my Miata in 15x6.5" for $79 each. Shoot, the miata may even have the same bolt pattern as a Honda.

Those millions of Hondas with the same bolt pattern and similar offset means a huge market for used allow wheels. High demand means high price

Also, factory wheels are often surprisingly expensive compared to aftermarket wheels.

Is your Accord a 4 cylinder LX? Or a V6?

Why 15"? Would you consider a wheel/tire set in a different size? Are your current 15" tires almost new?

can you get a v6 with steel wheels
I thought the more up market v6 came with alloy only
while the base 4 gets the steel wheels in 4 lug

You could get the LX V6 which had steel wheels, EX-V6 had alloys

You could get the EX 4cyl which had alloys, DX/LX had steelies

That's why it's important to know. We know he has a DX or LX, but is it a 4cyl (4-lug) or V6 (5-lug)?

Craigslist and be patient, my experience:

1) Was 2 factory alloys with studs for my wife's '99 Camry about 6 yrs ago....Found 3 for $50....Asked the guy if he'd sell 2 for $35...Sez, Yeah, but you have to take all 3....

2) Last weekend.....Wanted 4 alloy wheels for Studs for my '04 Toyota P/u.....Found 4 that look like new for $110.....

Just take your time........

I had to find a set for my mom's winter tires and came to the same conclusion. Ended up buying a set from a Nissan that also had 4x114.7. Does not fit hub centric and needed cone seat lug nuts but still everything came under $200.
