Sickening to watch. Thoughts go out to Dan Wheldon, and everyone else injured.

Tony Kanaan walking out almost in tears was enough of an announcement.

Just very sad day.....Figured the outcome when they called the 2nd drivers Mtg.....RIP Dan Wheldon!

(Sidenote: Have a buddy here from Australia that doesn't know Danica from Adam. After hearing her long rambling interview, he said: It's all about Danica, isn't it)

Interesting that the in-car feed from Wheldon's car was cancelled so quickly. I wonder if that's automatic, or is the feed delayed so the director can make the call?

I mean, there were just pieces of metal and car on fire in the middle of the track with no car attached to it and just debris everywhere. So it was scary, and your first thoughts are hoping that no one is hurt because there's just stuff everywhere. Crazy."

As I tried to tell everybody when I got hurt, when you put on a helmet and a firesuit, it's probably pretty dangerous. We accept that as racing drivers."

A yellow sheet placed over a race car is always a bad sign of the expected outcome.

I never saw the incident as the telecast was not shown because of an over running football game. It finally came on after the fact.

Hopefully the new cars next year are safer and they do not lose anyone else for a very long, long time.

A very sad day RIP DW

I was watching it live and as soon as it happened I "knew" it was bad. The network handled things the same as when I watched live the 1996 accident that killed Krosnoff on ABC. They would not show the driver being removed from the car, they covered the car being carried off, and anyone who came out of the medical center had that look on their face that they knew... I can't say that I was a big fan of Weldon but he was an excellent driver and he died doing what he loved. Prayers for his family.

Maybe but have some class and let it go for today to honor a fallen driver. There are many issues to discuss another day.

R.I.P. Dan Weldon - You gave us many fond memories. You were a class act and I pray for comfort for your family, friends and crew during this tragic moment.
