Scored a very cool mrental car on our vacation.
2012 Camaro SS convertible, with 4500 mi. on the clock.
![]() ![]() The thing was hellaciously fast! Didn't know the specs till I got home and looked it up. 400 HP 6.2 liter, with a 6 spd auto. Too bad it wasn't a manual, they put out 426 hp. It handled well with 4 wheel independent suspension, and stopped nicely thanks to the Brembos. ![]() I'm no fan of automatics, but the 6 spd with the paddle shifters pulled off some nice crisp upshifts and downshifts, and I actually began liking it. The acceleration provided some interesting high speed insertions into the I-75 traffic. ![]() Needless to say, we had a blast driving it for 10 days. I was still smiling most of the flight home. Avis should know better than to rent something like that to the likes of me!!

Now in 993 land ...

With the top down you had a chance to actually see out! The coupe feels like you are driving a tank. No visibility whatsoever.
I sat in a 6 speed SS convertible and could see it being a nice car. Just can't get over the coupe. Also, why is the top of the ass end and the top of the doors about the height of my 993 roof-line on all these cars (Dodge, Chevy)? They are humongous ... G |

Yeah, they're not small cars. But with the HP, suspension, and sticky tires, it still managed to feel fairly nimble.
I drove it with the top up for about 15 min. one day, and the visibility sucked. Top down at all other times.
