More Books in the Pipeline...

Well, the second book is at the publishers getting final edits done. This one is over 2000 pages! This book is actually an encyclopedia titled Process Plant Equipment Operation, Reliability and Control. It illustrates the best practices, reliability and control of various equipment applied in all aspects of the process industry. From crude refining to food processing, this work is a culmination of chapters contributed by academic and professionals from around the globe.

My third endeavor, my current project is A CONDENSED PROCESS AND RELIABILITY ENGINEERING DICTIONARY. I am working on that with a few other geeks from around the globe. I submitted over 1800 entries. All made up of course! That one should be out in about a year or so.

The idea is to make reference books that will fetch a good price and have shelf life seems to make sense. Plus, second editions always make for a nice bump. Libraries, schools, institutions and industry are targeted.

Who knows, if I can get some name recognition maybe I can rest back someday and have my golden years spent doing some talks, teaching a little, writing a little and sleeping a lot!

Don't need any numbers, but can you make any decent money, I mean at least a stand alone income?

M.D. Holloway 10-25-2011 07:29 AM

Not on one or two but I figuer if I pop one out about every year or so for the next 8 years i shall be able to loan some money to my kids for their college education. My rates are less then Sallie Mae. I'm at 5%.

The money comes in the form of seminars and speaking engagements and consulting. The books are a feeder for that...
