A new VW "Thing"
I saw this the other day. I never liked the Muranno, but this got me thinking. It actually looked pretty fun in person.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1319739841.jpg Along with the New Beetle, VW should reprise the "Thing". Make it a 4 door convertible again, 4WD, rear engine, set the stance to SUV heights, make them cheep and they'd sellout fast. Use the same platform, slap a Porsche crest on it, up the HP and give it a more aggressive stance - again, I think it would be hot! Isn't there some new hot 4 cyl coming out? |
Kill it with fire and dump the ashes in a volcano.

Kill the Muranno?

Then dump acid on it to dissolve the body so it'll never come back. That fugly thing above looks like the illegitimate spawn of a Pontiac Aztek that humped a Saturn Sky. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...s/pukeface.gif |
More catering to lazy old farts who can't bend over to get into a low car door.
Truth hurts. :) |
I had a car magazine a couple months ago with an article on this car, there wasn't one kind word in the article. I looked for it but must have thrown it out, never really thought one would sell.

I thought that "thing" was pretty ugly with a hard top, cutting the roof off didn't make it any prettier...

And what about the Nissan Juke? http://www.roadfly.com/new-cars/wp-c...issan-juke.jpg Is BMW's Bangle and the designers of the Aztek working for Nissan now? |
It's more hideous in person.

That Toyota actually is something I'd drive. I hope they actually produce it and it gets sold here in the US.
They never should have discontinued the mid-engined MR2 IMHO. That was a cool Toy-Yoda. Possibly the last one they've had with any soul at all up until now. |

The point was a new, open air, 4wd german thing/schwimwagen/porsche buggy would sell well - esp in so cal. IMHO of course. The stupid murrano just got me thinking about that hole in the marketplace.
