New addition to the family.
We stopped in Cedar City, Utah on our way home from visiting family in the Salt Lake area. As we are leaving, is see a lady set up on the lawn in front of Walmart selling Border Collie pups, no intention of getting any but who doesn't love puppies.
As we walk over this loving Golden Retriever comes up to my wife and gives her that puppy dog look. The lady tells my wife she can't keep her dogs anymore and is looking for a good home. That was all it took. Into Walmart we went bought a kennel for her and she is the now a family member. Clean bill of health from our vet just a little under weight about 2 years old. The most loving dog, I call her Space Invader because she always wants to be right at your side. Her name is Cassidy. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1319821529.jpg |
Great looking pup! Congratulations
|
WOW!!
this is much better than that other "walmart" thread! cute dog. any separation anxiety? i get nervous when a dog sticks like velcro. |
What a beautiful pup. It looks like you all got lucky that day!
|
That's how these two came into our lives. Well, not Wal-Mart, but through a local no kill shelter. Owners too finacilly strapped to care for them. A sincere thank you to those who although no longer able to care for their pets put forth the effort to find them homes.
Somehow I think Cassidy knows she is a lucky dog...The cats? Well, they are cats, therefore know that they deserve to be spoiled. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1319828861.jpg |
She's a beauty, got those kind eyes. Glad she found a nice home.
|
As Bogart once said "Louis, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship."
|
We picked up a Golden about a year ago, she's now about 2, in the same sort of situation. very loving, very eager to please, and looks identical, but....she is dumb as a bag of hammers.
|
She is a beautiful dog!
Congrats! |
Dan will tell you ..
nuthin like a Golden.. sometimes we question.. often..there is a reason.. I found 2.. think they adopted me.. you did good.. rika |
way to go. hope the rest of her dogs ended up in good homes too. goldens do a great job of keeping the coffee table clean. never seen one that didnt have a constantly moving tail. i also see many soggy tennis balls in your future too.

Nice doggie, live the love, found or adopted dogs are the best, good on ya.
|
Excellent. Sammy, our golden lab who rescued me is behind me snoring in approval. =-)

thirteen years ago mine was in a box full of puppies outside the local feed store.
golden retrievers are sweethearts. you won't regret taking her. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1319908753.jpg |
I have always wanted a Golden however with my wife and I working full time and having 4 yr old Twins, I dont think it would be fair for the dog to be stuck inside all the time with limited attention
|
Daisy approves...

Goldens are great!
Goldens are great! I'm sure you and your new puppy will be best buddies in no time!http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1319940910.jpg
Daisy will be 4 years old on November 4th. We keep her trimmed short because of my allergies and her shedding. Watch the snacks and don't let your Golden become overweight. They are "people" dogs, so they want to be around people as much as possible, unless of course, they're sleeping! |
Thanks guys she is fitting in well, we have a 16month male Choc Lab at home all ready. Both dogs get along but neither have been spayed/neutered so his testosterone kicks in and just wants to do his thing. So we have been keeping her inside a lot, we had her fixed this week when she is healed its his turn then they can spend more time together outside.
They are both great dog we really scored with her. She will fit it just fine...a great campfire dog. |
