Phoenix Pelicans: Want to come out and play? 5 hours @ Bondurant for $120 on 10.22.11
Not sure of the details yet, but just saw this on AZCentral. FTD wins a two day Bondurant course!
The Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving has teamed with the Kyrene de los Cerritos Elementary School PTO for a fundraiser 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 22 at the driving school, 2000 S. Maricopa Road, Gate 3, in Chandler. Tickets for the "Fun Day" are $120 each, and $20 of each sale will go to Cerritos. Each ticket includes a five-hour race day, normally valued at about $300. Each purchase includes a drawing ticket. Two winners will be announced: the rider with the fastest time and a randomly chosen ticket holder. Each will receive a $2,450 two-day driving course. Drawing tickets are available for $20 and can be purchased the day of the event at the driving school, in the Cerritos front office or through Nicole Bondurant at titanslaw@msn.com. There are 200 race tickets available to the event, which is open to the public. Call 480-403-7618 by Oct. 14 to reserve a seat. Read more: Bondurant races with Cerritos Bondurant races with Cerritos

Might be interested if I am in town then.
Richard, would guess that they are using Camaro's or Vettes... thats all I have seen them using out there.

Talked to someone at Bondurant. Mostly what you're signing up for is a competition, not training. They'll have two stations set up. One for karts and one for autocross.
Autocross will be in a Corvette where you'll get some practice laps and timed laps - actual number to be determined. Karts will be in Pro-Karts (automatic) - same as above - some practice laps, some timed laps. FTD in the kart wins a 2 day driving school. Article said something about accident avoidance simulator, but that was news to guy I talked to. He said he'd call me back later with details on that one. Cost is $120 - $100 for the event and $20 for a raffle ticket for a 2 day Bondurant course. Additional raffle tickets can be purchased for $20. Start time is 9am. They have an end time set as 2pm, but odds are it will be over sooner. After you drive you're free to go or hang out to see if anyone beats your awesome times. I am signing up. My family's schedule is packed these days and the morning of the 22nd is open so I figured I'd grab that spot while I can!

I'm official signed up. Guy at Bondurant said they'll base the number of laps on the number of participants... hoping I'm the only one!

Well, that was a lot of fun for $$$. We spent most of the morning in the karts with three sessions of about 10-12 laps. Then it was time for autocrossing in the Corvettes.
Unfortunately, I didn't win the kart competition, but came in second. The guy who beat me has actually raced karts and his son currently races karts, so I didn't feel too bad. His best time was less than a second ahead of me. My last timed lap felt the fastest right up until the point that I came up on a slower kart. ![]() I DID win the autocross competition in the Corvettes. I was hoping Bob was going to be so impressed by my stellar time that he was going to offer up another driving course, but it didn't happend. I did get a trophy and got to meet Bob and his wife, Pat, which was pretty cool! Bob had surgery yesterday to repair damage done by a brown recluse spider bite, but still spent the day talking to students at the school, shaking hands, and posing for pictures. ![]()

The Motorsport Lab Deal of the Day | Groupon Phoenix Just popped up on GroupOn, for $89 you get to drive a Ferarri or Aston Martin. "cruising around local roads & zipping down Highway 101 in Aston Martin DB9 or Ferrari 360 Modena" Might be a nice Christmas present! ![]()

I saw that Groupon yesterday, but I am suspicious. You get 15 miles or 45 min. and can only drive around Cactus and Scottsdale Roads. WTF fun is that? I've had more fun with other people's Ferraris for free.
About eight yrs. ago I was driving to the local Porsche dealer in Leipzig to rent a 996. It was 300 Euros for 250 kilometers or eight hours. On the way there traffic was so bad on the highway, that I turned my car off and sat more than once. I decided to nix the Porsche rental and headed over to Luetzen to see where King Gustav Adolphus died in the 30 Years War instead. Much cheaper and more rewarding.

15 miles doesn't seem like much. They've sold over 1000 packages so there's definitely some interest.
