Pity the ones that have to work on the cars in the paddock. I don't miss those days at Willow and I've been there in all conditions but heavy rain. Mark is one dedicated racer. |
It's actually not bad 55 degrees, but the wind does suck. I would rather be here than most places. Yes I do hide in my trailer, while my one man crew deals w the car, so far just tires an fuel and one of 2 msd coils failed, luckily the auto zone down the street had the correct coil
|
I'd rather be in your patio sucking up the beverages or over at the shop drooling.

you californian's are soft. im in shorts today...this isnt cold! im getting off work in 10 minutes, and i'll be heading up to willow springs to catch the last two races.
|
I remember Laguna Seca for the ALMS race in October 2010. The wind was blowing all day and the air was chilly anyway. I like "California cold" but it gets old after being in that wind chill walking around from 10AM to 9PM, and having a 2 hour drive back home.
I was wearing shorts and a polyester fleece jacket that offered no protection whatsoever from the wind. So, it is not so much the ultimate temperature or windchill but how it wears you down after constant exposure for so long. |

Was the ALFA a V12? I can't remeber which were V8 and which were V12. I think they switched around there. TT-3312 I think it was?

You sure Porsche was not champion in 1971? That was the year of the 917 and 908.3 :)
The next year was the Speed Merchants year and the Ferrari 312PB (flat 12) won everything. I think the side of the ALFA said 1975. It was a later model than 1972. |
the announcer made the comment that the Alfa won Le Mans in '75, which I knew was bunk. '73 was the development year, in '74 it won at Monza
