A message to cops...

A message to cops.

The point of this article isn't to judge whether cops are justified in doing what they do. This article has nothing to do with police training. And this isn't just about American cops. This is about the perception that we, the public, have of you when you perform the following actions. It doesn't matter if you disagree with these perceptions, because right or wrong, they exist. The point of this article is to simply let you know that we're watching, and this is how we see things.

WE? You got a mouse in your pocket?
You have every right to speak up for yourself, but it seems you decided to speak for all of us .....

widgeon13 11-06-2011 12:04 PM

I don't have any issues w/ LEO's and I have plenty of experience with them.

Don't bother to read the crap on the link. I don't get along with cops but that guy is full of crap.

Really, take my word, it's a waste of time you won't get back.

I didn't bother to read the link, i can imagine what it says. I have been a police officer for over twenty years. Funny about people who don't like police officers, they are always quick to call us when the sh#t hits the fan.
I treat people with respect and usually have no problems with the people I meet in my work.
I really don't care what you might think of my profession, if I needed everyone to like me I would have joined the fire dept.

:D

Because it's perfectly OK for the brave Firemen to park the fire truck in the red zone while 5 grown men go grocery shopping/or eat at the same restaurant as the lowdown, rotten police officers.

And the good taxpayer doesn't mind a bit that the nice fireman sleeps for 1/3 of his shift and plays video games/watches TV for the other 2/3.

Or that the knight in shining armor Firemen negotiated a "4 man per truck" minimum staffing requirement "for safety" (AND NOT MANDATORY OVERTIME) because of the great number of structure fires that still occur in 2011...

35 months and counting...

The day that I receive my first "100k CALPERS Retirement check" I am going to scan it and post if every day for a month here on PARF.

That's funny. :)
I know 3 firemen - behind that uniform, they're all 3 approval junkies. Ha!
.
FWIW, I've yet to be wrongly ticketed/stopped.

URY914 11-06-2011 04:29 PM

There are good cops and bad cops. Just like anything else.

Wish i had not read that drivel, but i have to agree somethat with the rant on tasers. They can be deadly force in the wrong circumstances.

I get along with most cops. Just people doing a job.

One Ranger, One Riot......

As to who is a bigger dick....my vote is the FD.

VINMAN 11-06-2011 05:26 PM

What the fuch is with the attack on firefighters???

azasadny 11-06-2011 05:35 PM

You could say negative things about any profession, cops just get more attention because our contact with them is so memorable. What about the cops that have helped you. I've had several help me out , as well as firefighters. Several have probably saved my life...

Hawktel 11-06-2011 05:38 PM

I don't think it should be illegal to record cops.

Are Cameras the New Guns?

looneybin 11-06-2011 05:59 PM

the only issue i have with cops is that they need to spend more time at the range.
How many times do you hear about several officers firing multiple rounds at a suspect and they either miss altogether, or the suspect it treated at the hospital for minor wounds.
The suspect should be treated with a toe tag at the morgue!!!
Those rounds that don't stop in the suspects are going somewhere, hopefully not into some bystander.

bullets cost money.

people like you would argue that "saving money" by cutting police range training budgets is a false economy and that the few dollars saved by buying less bullets could very likely be multiplied a thousand times in a civil lawsuit against the city/police department as the result of an errant round striking a bystander.

elections have consequences. choose your city councilmen/city managers carefully.

or don't. and put up with what you get.
