Phoenix guys:Interesting item at our school charity auction: SWAT Training Experience

Probably don't have to live in Phoenix to win, but you'd miss out on the private plane trip to LA!

S.W.A.T. TEAM TRAINING EXPERIENCE!
One lucky person, will accompany Arnie
Evdokimo to spend the day with the Whittier
Police Department’s S.W.A.T. Team. Fly to LA
via private airplane & spend the day firing fully
automatic weapons, grenade launchers, and
handguns.
Overnight accommodations included.
Expires: Jul 01, 2012

Why do I have a feeling you will still bid Rick?

Or will OJU win it?

Are you saying the SWAT training was on a deal site?

I think what he means is that the auction price will end up being far more than you'd have to pay to have that kind of fun on your own. Aside from the private plane ride, which I really don't care about, I can rent a machine gun anytime I want, even have a free coupon for one at the moment. I'd just have to pay for as much ammo as I wanted to burn. AZ has plenty of places where you can do those Hogan's Alley shoots if you want to make the drive and write the check. What I would like to do, however, is compete with some cops at the range. A lot of NRA shooting events out here are LEO only and I'd love to cut teeth with those guys.

Could be. I'm always shocked at what people pay for some of the stuff at our annual auction. I've seen items go for over retail. The auction is Saturday so we'll find out soon enough.

My wife's company's Xmas party's auction included a homecooked meal at the CEO's house. A few brown nosers pooled their money and bid it up to $1500, all for some face time with the CEO.

I guess if it is a charity auction wholesale or retail is really a moot point.

Its usually also deductable from your taxes and as well goes for a good cause, so why not?

Face time with the CEO is not to be under-stated...

I get a lot of it at my work because once we are in the jet and up in the air, there is usually no one to bother him. He comes to the cockpit and its not unusual to spend 30 minutes to an hour just talking about everything going on. Recent developements have made the discussions even more interesting but thats all I can say about it.

Only the amount over fair market value is deductible. Hard to say what fair market value of a package like this would be.
